How Dean and Graceful Web Studio met

Dean Broersma and Crystal met at Yakima Business Alliance, a BNI chapter where 55 local business owners meet every week to pass referrals to each other. They hit it off right away. Dean runs Valley Professional Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning, and his reputation in Yakima was built one living room at a time.

His website wasn't keeping up with that reputation.

The problem: $300 a month for a website that wasn't working

Dean was paying $300 every month for an outdated WordPress website. For that money he got a site that ranked number 9 on Google for "carpet cleaning Yakima" and brought in very few leads from anyone who didn't already know him. Word of mouth was carrying the business, and the website was along for the ride.

The old site had three service pages and branding that no longer matched the quality of Dean's work. Someone searching for a carpet cleaner at 9 p.m. had no real reason to pick up the phone.

Valley Professional's old homepage. A dark photo of commercial carpet fills the hero, with a small red script logo in the corner and the headline "A Beautiful Home Starts With the Floors." Below it are four photo tiles for furniture upholstery, carpet, tile floor cleaning, and the gallery, then a blue "Free Estimates Available" banner.
Before: Valley Professional's old website. The logo was hard to read, the headline didn't say what Dean does or where, and the buttons said "Contact Us" instead of inviting a call. Dean wasn't on the page anywhere.

The strategy: build lean, launch fast, and keep growing

The plan was a lean website built for conversions, launched quickly, then grown every month through maintenance. That approach got Dean off the expensive monthly fee sooner and gave every new page a chance to earn its place.

Real photos of real work

Stock photos don't build trust for a local service business. We worked with Dean to hire a professional photographer, so the new site shows Dean, his equipment, and his actual work. When a family is deciding who to let into their home, seeing the person who will show up matters.

A brand refresh

Dean's new logo and brand colors give Valley Professional a clean, confident look that matches a business people already trust. The deep green carries from the logo through every page of the site.

A website built to turn visitors into calls

Every page leads to a phone call. "Call for Free Quote" buttons tap straight to Dean's phone, a "Schedule Cleaning" option is there for people ready to book, and the contact form asks visitors to describe their space. We expanded the services section from three pages to six, so each service can rank on its own in Google:

  • Carpet cleaning
  • Upholstery cleaning
  • Tile and grout cleaning
  • Area rug cleaning
  • Commercial carpet cleaning
  • Pet odor and stain treatment

Trust signals now do the selling Dean used to do in person. Visitors see a short "Meet Dean" video, his IICRC certification and more than 35 years of experience as a third-generation carpet cleaner, a 7-day spot re-treatment guarantee, a simple four-step "how it works" section, and real Google reviews from Yakima customers.

The site is built to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, with readable contrast, clear headings, descriptive alt text on every photo, and forms that work with a keyboard and a screen reader. Schema markup and an llms.txt file help Google and AI tools like ChatGPT understand exactly what Valley Professional does and where it works.

Five weeks after launch

Dean waited five weeks before writing his Google review, because he wanted to see real results first. Here is what he wrote:

"I have honestly got more response from my new website in 5 weeks than my old site got all last year. I have had more compliments on the new site than I have ever received from the old one. Crystal is great to work with, very responsive and keeps things moving. I am very pleased."

Monthly maintenance: where the growth happens

Launch was the starting line. Dean trusts us with his SEO and AI visibility, and every month we build on the foundation with a monthly website maintenance plan. Since launch, that work has included:

  • Expert blog articles that answer the questions people search, like how to get dog urine, coffee, red wine, and spaghetti sauce out of carpet, how to care for a wool area rug, and when DIY cleaning makes sense
  • Service area pages for Sunnyside, Toppenish, Zillah, Selah, Union Gap, and more towns across the Yakima Valley
  • FAQ sections written for the way people ask questions in Google and in AI tools
  • Recent articles on service pages, so new content supports the pages that bring in jobs
  • AI visibility tracking, so we can see how Valley Professional shows up in ChatGPT and other AI answers
  • Help with his other online profiles, including Google Business Profile and Yelp, so his listings match his website

Results

Here is what Google Search Console and Google Analytics show since the new site launched in late April 2026:

  • Search impressions more than doubled, from 4,692 in May to 9,671 in August.
  • Top two in Google for local searches. The site's average position is 1.3 for "carpet cleaning near me," 1.4 for "carpet cleaners near me," 1.5 for "upholstery cleaning," and 1.7 for "carpet cleaning."
  • Page one for Yakima searches. "Carpet cleaning Yakima" moved from position 9 to position 6.
  • More than 35,000 search impressions in the first five months.
  • Six in ten clicks come from phones, which is why readable pages and tap-to-call buttons matter so much here.
  • ChatGPT is sending visitors. Google Analytics shows referrals from ChatGPT, a sign the AI visibility work is paying off.

The number that matters most to Dean is leads. In front of a room full of business owners, Dean said his new website has brought him more leads in six months than his old website brought him in six years.

What this project shows

Dean was paying every month for a site that sat at number 9 and waited for people who already knew him. A lean, accessible Webflow site with real photos and a clear path to the phone changed that within weeks, and steady monthly maintenance keeps it climbing.

Working with Dean has been an absolute pleasure. He trusted the process, gave honest feedback, and now tells other business owners about his results.
