The calculator

Calculate what accessible UX could be worth to you

We filled in example numbers so you can see how it works. Type over them, or clear them all and enter your own. The estimate updates as you type.

Your website today
Find this in Google Analytics under Reports, then Acquisition. Example: 2,000.
The share of visitors who become paying customers. Not sure? Open the guide below this field. Example: 2%.
How do I find my conversion rate?

Quick math: divide last month's new customers by last month's website visitors, then multiply by 100. For example, 30 new customers from 2,000 visitors is 1.5%.

In Google Analytics 4: go to Reports, then Acquisition, then Traffic acquisition, and read the Session key event rate in the Total row. This only works if your form submissions, calls, or bookings are set up as key events.

If you know leads but not sales: GA4 counts leads, not customers. Multiply your lead rate by the share of leads who hire you. If 4% of visitors contact you and you close half of them, enter 2%.

Still not sure? Start with 2%. Published benchmarks for most industries fall roughly between 1% and 5%.

What one customer spends per purchase. Example: $500.
Customer lifetime value Optional. Fill in both to see what one new customer is worth over time.
How many times a typical customer buys from you in a year. Example: 2.
How long a typical customer keeps coming back. Example: 5.

The research

Where does the 23% come from?

In 2025, AccessibilityChecker.org studied 10,000 websites using data from Semrush and BuiltWith. As a site's accessibility score went up, its organic traffic rose by an average of 23%.

That is a correlation, so we use it as a benchmark for your estimate and not a promise. It is also why every figure in the calculator is labeled as illustrative. Read the 2025 accessibility and SEO study.

Why do accessible websites earn more search traffic?

Search engines and AI answer tools read your site much like a screen reader does. Build for people who browse differently, and machines understand your pages better too.

Clear headings

A logical outline tells search engines what each section is about.

Descriptive links

Link text that names the destination helps people and crawlers decide where to go.

Alt text and captions

Images and video become words that search engines can index.

Clean, semantic HTML

Fast, well-structured pages are easier to crawl and easier to use on a phone.

From the book Accessible UX by Design covers the framework we use to decide which accessibility fixes pay off first. We dig into the revenue side in does web accessibility increase revenue.

Maintenance clients we track every month

Real growth from accessible websites that keep improving

Launch is not the finish line. These clients are on our monthly maintenance plans, where we fix, test, and tune their sites every month and track what changes.
